AUSTIN — Defending state champion Sarah Black shot a 76 in the first round of the Class 3A state tournament Thursday at Jimmy Clay Golf Course, and the Andrews sophomore and her team both have the lead going into today’s final round.
Andrews is trying to win the girls state championship for the second year in a row, the fourth time in six years and the 10th time overall. Black has a one-shot lead, and teammate Whitlee Woods is in a tie for third at 78.
In the 3A boys race, Andrews is in fourth place, 13 shots out. The Mustangs shot 316.
