Shortly after National Letter of Intent signing day kicked off around 8 a.m., Texas Tech quickly received five signees for the 2013 class.

Sending in their letters early were Clarksville receiver Gary Moore, Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College defensive end Demetrius Alston and three players from Georgia, defensive end Zach Barnes from Loganville, Ga., and teammates Jacarthy Mack, an outside linebacker, and Demarquis Polite-Bray, a receiver, from Lithonia, Ga.

By 8:30 a.m. Tech received another one that was not on its commitment list as Lithonia offensive lineman Josh Outlaw (6-foot-4, 268 pounds) signed with the Red Raiders. He reportedly had offers from most Southeastern Conference schools as well as Oklahoma, Virginia and West Virginia.

Tech has 16 more commitments who are expected to sign their letters throughout the day.

surprises

Will be expecting to see more surprises today. Kingsbury and staff ,despite getting a late start are doing well. hopefullly they will fill in all the needs especially along the lines and in defensive backfield.
