Cooper 48

WOODROW — Seminole seems as if it may have destiny on its side this season.

The Indians, who had already clinched the District 2-3A title, beat Cooper by two points Tuesday night, their fourth down-to-the-wire victory in the last couple of weeks.

Seminole knocked off Estacado and Levelland on buzzer beaters in consecutive games two weeks ago, then beat Shallowater by three points on Friday.

After building an 11-0 lead against Cooper on Tuesday, it took every thing the Indians had to hold on again.

Seminole, leading by two, missed a pair of free throws with four seconds remaining, but Cooper was unable to get a good look at the basket on its final possession.

Isaac Rangel scored a game-high 17 points — including three 3-pointers — to pace the Indians, while Sabraun Adams added 13.

Stetson Smitherman led Cooper with 12 points and Brent Carlton added 11.

Seminole finished the season with a perfect 10-0 district record will have a first-round bye when the playoffs start next week.
