DENVER CITY — Brownfield needed every one of quarterback Hill Shacolby’s six touchdowns to edge Denver City 45-44 Friday.

Shacolby ran in four Cubs touchdowns, including a 4-yard run in the fourth quarter, and threw two touchdowns.

The Cubs move to 5-5 and 4-1 in District 2-2A Division I while the Mustangs fall to 6-4 and 3-2 in district.

Quarterback Clancy David led the Mustangs’ offense, completing 19 of 31 passes for 381 yards for five touchdowns.

But his 25-yard touchdown pass to Keyshawn Hawkins with 4:20 left in the game wasn’t enough to tie up the game after missing the conversion.
