LEVELLAND — Tramesha Wilson scored 21 points and Aaliyah Briley added 15 to lead No. 19 Estacado to a District 2-3A-opening 54-46 win against Levelland on Friday night.
The Loboettes (14-9, 0-1 in 2-3A) went down by eight heading into the fourth quarter but cut the deficit to 42-40 with two minutes left.
Levelland had a couple of looks with the game still within reach, but the shots didn’t fall and Estacado hit its free throws down the stretch.
The Loboettes hit eight 3-pointers, but went 8 of 18 from the free-throw line. Brooke Durham, who hit three 3’s, scored 13 to lead the hosts.
Morgan Himango added nine points for Levelland, which led 20-16 late in the second quarter but allowed a 7-0 run to end the half.
Levelland continues district play at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Andrews. Estacado (16-6, 1-0) hosts Shallowater at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday

Bailey Wipff scored 15, Brittany Thompson scored 12 and Suzzy Dimba added 11 for the Lady Mustangs (25-1, 8-0 in 2-5A).
Coronado shot 60 percent from the floor (30 of 50) and out-rebounded the Lady Rebels 42-19. Suzzy Dimba and Thompson each had 10 rebounds.
Coronado led by only four after the first quarter but limited Lee to only five second-quarter points to build a 29-15 halftime lead.
Hannah Payne scored 12 points and Daija Stanford chipped in 10 to lead Midland Lee.

WOLFFORTH — Karli Wheeler scored seven points to lead No. 20 Plainview to a District 4-4A opening victory on Friday in one of the lowest-scoring games on the South Plains this season.
After trailing 18-9 at halftime, the Tigers blanked the Lady Bulldogs in the third quarter 10-0 to take the lead into the fourth.
However, Plainview had just enough offense to take down the Tigers.
Malori Maddox led all scorers with eight points, including a pair of 3-pointers, in the Tigers’ losing effort. Allison Rohrer added seven for Frenship.
