High school soccer roundup: Monterey splits at tourney

WICHITA FALLS — The Monterey boys soccer team split its games Friday at the Wichita Falls Tournament, falling 4-0 to Wichita Falls and downing Randall 2-0.

In the win against Randall, the Plainsmen got goals from Jordan Gutierrez and Eduardo Rossatto with assists by Cobi Faz and Alex Garcia.

Monterey also picked up a victory Thursday, defeating Duncanville 2-1. Marc Casares and Nando Hernandez scored, and Dustin Wells had an assist.

The Plainsmen will play Weatherford at 9 a.m. today.

Humble Kingwood 4

Monterey girls 0

The Monterey girls soccer team was shut out by Humble Kingwood in a non-district match.

The Lady Plainsmen fell to 7-4 overall and will face Friendswood at 11 a.m. today.
