Monique Garcia pitched a three-hit shutout and helped her own cause with three hits as Coronado beat Frenship 14-0 late Saturday to win the championship of the Lubbock AMBUCS Tournament.
Garcia (4-0) struck out 12 and did not walk a batter. She went 3 for 4 and drove in a run.
Coronado (5-0) got a 3-for-3 performance and a run batted in from Mercedes Ybarra, and Eva Holland and Kaitlynn Dawson both had 2-for-3, two-RBI games.
Earlier Saturday, the Lady Mustangs beat Cooper 3-2 and Randall 14-0.
The Coronado junior varsity won Division II with a 9-3 conquest of Borger. There were 16 teams in each division.
