Coronado volleyball coach Chad Jones was named the District 2-5A Coach of the Year, and four of his players earned first-team honors on the 2-5A All-District squad in a vote of the league’s head coaches.
Earning first-team honors were Lizzy Dimba, Suzzy Dimba, Kalani Giddens and Kyleigh Lucia from the Lady Mustangs. Lizzy and Suzzy Dimba finished 1-2, respectively, in kills for Coronado with 368 and 343. Giddens was third with 313 kills while Lucia finished with 1,222 assists and 294 digs.
Also earning first-team honors was Marcie Kissko from Lubbock High, while Lady Westerner teammates Madeline McKay, Priyanka Shome and Catherine Wiechmann earned second-team honors. Alyssa Bergman, Maegan Bridges, Melissa Caskey and Karolyne McMillian from Monterey were also named to the second team.

Chelsey Driskill was named to the first team and Frenship teammates Kristina Gafford and Amber Bowman were named second-team on the All-District 3-4A team voted on by the league’s coaches.
Driskill led the Tigers with 651 kills and had 123 blocks and 445 digs. Gafford finished with 1,134 assists, 337 digs and 41 aces.
Plainview’s Bailey Davis also earned second-team honors.
Randall senior Libby Strickland was named Player of the Year as the Lady Raiders took four of the five superlative honors. Haleigh Valenzuela from Dumas was named Defensive Player of the Year.

Shallowater’s Madison McIntire was named the Outstanding Setter of the district while Johnna Prather from Lamesa was named Outstanding Hitter.
Lamesa, Levelland, Cooper and Shallowater each played two members on the first-team while Brownfield and Estacado had one each. Mallorie Ellis, a freshman from Brownfield, was named Newcomer of the Year.
