Kalani Giddens headlined a list of four Coronado volleyball players who earned District 2-5A superlatives.
Giddens, who helped lead her team to the regional quarterfinals, was named the district Most Valuable Player by the coaches.
Suzzy Dimba was named the district’s most outstanding hitter, and Emily Ritchie was named the Newcomer of the Year. Chad Jones was named Coach of the Year after the Lady Mustangs finished undefeated in district play.
Lizzy Dimba and Sydney Webster each garnered first-team honors.

Monterey senior Karolyne McMillian headlined the District 4-4A awards with a most valuable player nod from the district’s coaches.
McMillian had 369 kills and 509 digs to lead the Lady Plainsmen back to the playoffs.
Frenship’s Clarissa Gonzales and Malori Maddox each landed district superlatives (Outstanding Freshman and Outstanding Defense) and Lubbock High’s August Thompson was named Outstanding Setter and Madeline McKay garnered the Outstanding Hitter award to round out the individual player awards.
Frenship, Plainview and Hereford each landed two players to the first team.
Plainview led all schools with five players named to the first and second teams.

Cooper’s Katy Headrick was named the District 2-3A Most Valuable Player to headline 10 Lady Pirates who garnered postseason all-district honors.
The Lady Pirates advanced to the regional tournament for the first time in school history, with Megan Allen, Kati Macha and Summer Wilson all grabbing first-team honors. Torey Kay also was named the Outstanding Setter.
Levelland’s Morgan Himango was named the district’s Outstanding Hitter after helping lead the Loboettes to a co-district title.
Seminole’s Kaleen Sarli and Kendall Freeman were named Outstanding Defensive Player and Newcomer of the Year, respectively.
Lady Pirate Claire Shaver, who was named second-team all-district, was also named to the all-regional tournament team.
